Secret RF MicroNeedling

Both of these procedures are highly effective for acne scar removal. The consultation will give the physician to identify your scarring and skin type and discuss the recommended treatment.
Prior to your treatment, make sure that you have clean skin and are not wearing and make up or cosmetics. Any other pre-treatment instructions will be discussed prior to your acne scar removal appointment.
Before Procedure
Our Secret RF Micro needling dermal remodeling acne scar removal procedure can be an uncomfortable experience for some. It uses micro needles to penetrate the lower layer of the skin (AKA the dermis). To make your experience as comfortable as possible you have the option of requesting that we apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area. Keep in mind that if you want the topical anesthetic applied you have to arrive at least 30 minutes before the procedure so the numbing agent can take effect.
Please avoid wearing any kind of makeup to the procedure as we will need to cleanse the skin before the procedure and the cleaner your skin is when you arrive the better.
During Procedure
Once your skin is cleaned the probe is placed directly on the area being treated. During the procedure you will feel pressure and heat. The probe will make contact with the skin and will feel like a rubber band snapping the skin. The length of the procedure will be dependent on the severity of your acne scarring and the amount of surface area that needs to be covered. Usually an acne scar removal treatment will last 20 minutes.
Our Secret RF acne scar removal treatment usually leaves the skin red and swollen. This is because the treatment uses an advanced form of micro needling that permeates the lower layer of skin. The recovery from our acne scar removal treatment will usually take about two days. Some may even opt to take one to two days off from work until the symptoms subside.
We highly recommend that you avoid any type of cosmetics or make up for at least two days to allow for proper healing after an acne scar removal treatment using our Secret RF Micro needling treatment.
If your treatment requires the use of our Enlighten laser you may experience some swelling, but this will most likely improve within a couple of hours after the procedure. Most people will chose to return directly to work and wont have to make any changes to their day-to-day routine, such as the use of make ups and cosmetics.
The main side effect for either treatment is swelling. As discussed above the swelling is more intense after the Secret RF treatment. This treatment is often also accompanied by redness. We recommend the use of ice on the effected area to aid with the reduction of swelling and pain management.
The side effects of the Enlighten III laser are a lot more manageable and will subside in a matter of hours, whereas with the Secret RF it can take up to three days.

Depressed Scarring
Depressed scarring, also known as atrophic scarring is caused by a loss of skin tissue. This leads to the skin having a depressed or sunken appearance where there were previously pimples. There are three types of sunken acne scars: ice pick scars, boxcar scars and rolling scars
